Go on a wonderful trip to the West Side of the Nusa Penida island and revel in the joys of its tranquil atmosphere and picturesque landscape. Drop by magnificent photo stops worth posting on your Instagram, such as Angel Billabong, Broken Beach, Klingking Beach, and the Crystal Bay. You’ll get the opportunity to go swimming in the crystal clear waters of the area. You can even go snorkeling in Crystal Bay, Manta Bay, or Wall Bay and discover the majestic marine life in the area. This is definitely a must for any beachgoers. The locations you will get to visit on a West Nusa Penida Tour are:
Kelingking Beach

Kelingking is one of the main attractions of Nusa Penida. Every tour of Nusa Penida features a visit to this legendary spot and it’s easy to see why: because it looks like a T-Rex head from the top. From this viewpoint, you have a look over the limestone formations, ocean, and Kelingking Beach. The views are absolutely out-of-this-world and the beach is arguably the best in Bali. Even with the crowds, we do still highly recommend coming here; just try and do so in the morning or evening. The walk down to this beach is a hard one and might even be the most difficult beach to reach in Bali.
Angels Billabong

If you love taking a dip in the water and taking underwater shots, then you will absolutely love Angel’s Billabong. Angels Billabong is another popular attraction on Nusa Penida with natural infinity pool framed by rock cliffs and hanging out over the ocean overlooking Manta Point Beach. It is one of the most instagrammable natural pools in the world. With crystal clear water and rock formation flooring that is covered with seaweed, you are guaranteed to be able to get an awesome shot for your Instagram feed.
Despite its natural beauty, Angel’s Billabong could be a dangerous place to swim at. You should never go near the edge of the pool as big waves could break out of nowhere and swept you off the edge.
Broken Beach

Broken Beach is one of the top picturesque and most visited destinations on Nusa Penida. Uniqueness, a tranquil and incredible scene, is a great spot for travel photographers and panoramic view seekers. It has a big natural pool, about a hundred meters in diameter, created by sea abrasion and collapsed limestone hill million years ago. This hole has 98 meters in diameter and offers a unique and scenic view. There is a reach of cliffs 50-200 meters high. Cliff circular shape and the middle forming holes like caves or tunnels sea. The seawater is as if caught in the middle of the cliff which makes it seem like a big pond.
Crystal Bay

One of the popular spots for snorkeling and diving on the west side of Penida is Crystal Bay. One of the most crystal clear water in Nusa Penida, as it has beautiful corals, exotic fishes, and the rare Mola Mola fish from time to time. Snorkeling gear can be rented here.
Most tourists come to Crystal Bay Beach after a long day spent on other locations such as Broken Beach, Angel’s Billabong, and Kelingking Cliff. Usually, by the time they arrive at Crystal Bay, they are either too exhausted or just want a nice quiet time to enjoy the sunset view and it has plenty of food and drinks shacks for refreshments, you can just sit around and chill out. The great thing about Crystal Bay is that it’s one of the best spots to catch the sunset in Penida. Don’t forget to take a picture on the beautiful palm road.
Manta Bay

Manta Bay Nusa Penida is a bay surrounded by steep cliffs. Locals refer to this bay as Secret Manta. This bay is not too deep sometimes mantas can be seen from the surface. When snorkeling in Manta Bay, you have to be patient to wait 15-20 minutes to be able to see the manta from the boat. In addition to manta fish here you can see other marine life such as coral reefs, sharks, and much other marine life. Manta bay is the best snorkeling spot can be done at any time during the special season in Bali. Mantas come all year round because the waters of Bali and the Nusa Penida Islands have calm currents.
Gamat Bay

Gamat Bay is normally also one of the spots proposed by the snorkeling tours leaving from Toyapakeh or from Crystal Bay. In this case, you will normally be perfectly supervised by the tour. The tour is a great experience as it usually includes as well Manta Bay to swim with Manta Rays. If you want to snorkel from Gamat Bay beach, you can bring your own equipment or rent some on the road, just before parking your scooter. And do not forget the fins because the currents can be very strong, as often in Nusa Penida island. Do not go too far from the beach and be very careful, especially if there is no boat in front of the beach.
Gamat Bay is also one of the most beautiful scuba diving spots in Nusa Penida. Because the bay is a plateau about 8 meters deep, with a lot of colorful fish and coral. And you will often see turtles as well. It is therefore a good place to make a discovery dive when conditions are good. Especially if there is no current at the time of the tide. And at the exit of the bay, there is a wall that goes down to a sand plateau 40 meters deep.
