Can I work remotely from Bali using Second Home Visa?
Yes and No.
As a Digital Nomad, you’ll be able to work from Bali, BUT you CAN NOT work for clients in Indonesia or get paid here. You can’t be a manager of a business, a life coach, a fitness instructor, a videographer, a tour guide, and many more. In short, you can’t create any income in Indonesia or get any paid job in your bank account in Indonesia. If you take any clients and receive money in Indonesia, you violate the rules, including the tax laws. You might get deported if you violate this basic travel purpose. A working permit is required to do all of these.
You can only work from someone abroad and make money abroad, and receive money from your account abroad. In short, you stay in Bali as a tourist who gains income from aboard entities.
If you don’t have the proof of funds as required above, we suggest you apply for Visa on Arrival instead and get the best vacation in Bali for 60 days. Read more about What You Need to Know About Visa On Arrival here.
