If you’re looking for a relaxing escape in Bali, then you should definitely check out the Batur Natural Hot Spring. Located at the base of the impressive Mount Batur volcano, this hot spring is one of the island’s many natural wonders. The hot spring is surrounded by crystal-clear infinity pools that offer panoramic views of the tranquil lake and its surroundings.
The hot spring’s therapeutic and mineral-rich waters are perfect for a wellness retreat, and the beautiful Balinese sculptures and water fountains make for a serene atmosphere. The pools are man-made, but the warm water is natural and heated geothermally by underground magma. The water is full of volcanic minerals that are great for the skin and helps relax your muscles.
The hot spring’s location is one of the best things about it. Situated between the mountain and Lake Batur, you can soak up stunning views while you relax in the warm water. The pools are open every day between 7 AM – 7 PM, except on Nyepi (Day of Silence), and entrance costs for foreigners IDR 190 K (USD 12,70), which includes a free towel, locker, and welcome drink.
It’s important to note that while Bali is known for its tropical weather, the Batur region has cooler temperatures (about 22 °C during the day) and fresh air, making it the perfect place to relax after a morning full of sightseeing or hiking up the mountain. The hot spring has different pools, including one for children, and the water temperature cools slightly from 50°C to about 40°C (105°F) when it flows into the swimming pools.
The hot spring is open year-round, but it can get busy on weekends, so we recommend visiting during the weekdays when it’s quieter. So, if you’re looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience in Bali, make sure to visit the Batur Natural Hot Spring.
