Recommended Cafés in Kintamani for Sunrise Viewing Without Hiking

Bali, known as the land of paradise, boasts stunning beauty not only along its shores but also in its highlands. With 23 mountains scattered throughout the island, Mount Batur, Mount Abang, and Mount Agung are among the most renowned peaks.

However, before you embark on any plans to visit these mountains, it is advisable to read this article first.

Recently, Bali’s governor, Wayan Koster, made a significant policy announcement that immediately imposed a ban on all tourist activities in the mountains and volcanoes of Bali. Governor Koster formally declared this ban, which will have a considerable impact on tourists wishing to explore the highlands, as well as domestic visitors and even local residents who will be prohibited from setting foot on these mountains. The governor emphasized that only specific circumstances, such as religious ceremonies, disaster management, or special non-tourism-related activities, would allow locals to access the mountains and volcanoes.

The decision to enforce a complete ban on all activities across all 22 mountains in Bali stems from multiple incidents where foreign tourists have disrespected the sacred nature of the island’s holy mountains, often involving public displays of nudity. Additionally, accidents resulting in severe injuries and even tragic deaths on the mountainsides have influenced this decision.

However, if you still desire to witness the breathtaking sunrise around the mountains, we recommend visiting the cafes located around Mount Batur in Kintamani. Here are some places to consider for your upcoming trip to the North:
