QUESTION:
How to hike on Batur Mountain? Should I go by myself, join a group trip or hire a local guide? Do you have any guide contacts?
Answer:
Mount Batur is one of the most hype places to visit when you’re in Bali. It’s the perfect spot for catching the sunrise in the morning at the peak of an active mountain at 1.717 M above sea level.
We advise you not to hike here all by yourself because some local people told us, that some tourists went here by themselves, they ended up getting lost or walking too close to the dangerous spots. They had to be rescued by the rescue team and local people.
Solution:
We suggest you hire a local guide or arrange a group trip with your friends. There are a lot of local guides, who offer a private group trip to mount Batur at various prices. It starts from IDR 400 K/person (around USD 28) if you want to meet the guide at the meeting point, or around IDR 800 K/person (USD 56) if you want to get picked up in your hotel. The price is gonna be cheaper if more people are joining your trip.
Do you have no one interested to join the trip with you? No worry, these numbers below are also available for a private trip for you. The guide will accompany you and you’ll get a chance to meet another hiker on your way to the top.
Don’t forget to contact them a couple of days before your trip.
