IS BALI SAFE FOR SOLO TRAVELERS?

QUESTION: IS BALI SAFE FOR SOLO TRAVELLERS?

ANSWER:

Yes and sadly Not Really.

A lot of people have nominated Bali as one of the safest places to visit for a solo traveler. Well, that’s because the island has endless laidback vibes, and beautiful sceneries with a lot of retreats you can join. In the daylight, walking around Bali is also safe, because you won’t feel alone at all. Bali is also a tourist hub, so you can meet a lot of people with the same intentions as yours from all around the world.

But, you still need to take precautions. Just like in any other city, crime rates tend to rise at night. Bag snatches activity, robbery, and fraud also slightly rising in some areas.

SOLUTION:

If you travel alone, it’s better to practice some common sense that you would do at home while you’re in Bali. Don’t stay out too late at night alone. If you want to go to a nightclub, you can stay there until around 11 PM tops. It’s better to use application-based transportation, like GoCar or Grabcar, when you go out.

Ignore any cat-calls and watch out for dickheads in clubs and bars. It’s the best way to remove yourself immediately from developing into a bad situation.

If possible join a group activity. Take a yoga class, hiking groups, and surfing lessons. You’ll meet a lot of people by signing in for a group activity.
